The Lego Aston Martin DB5 – Brick by Brick

James Bond has one iconic car – and now everybody can afford it: the Lego Aston Martin DB5 as a miniature version! But will the famous ejector seat work?

We built the Lego Aston Martin DB5 – and tested all the hidden features!

1,023 – so many Aston Martin DB5 were built between 1963 and 1965 while the most famous car in the world made its first appearance in Goldfinger. Almost thirty years later it reappeared in GoldenEye. In the third Daniel Craig movie Skyfall he pulls it out of retirement only to drive with it – supposedly – into the sunset at the end of the latest Bond adventure Spectre.

After Aston Martin handed the production team around Ken Adams a DB5 prototype, he and special effects man John Stears curated the weapons and gadgets that made the DB5 into the iconic car it is until today.

In September 2018 Aston Martin announced it would built 25 replicas of the Goldfinger car – including some gadgets that EONs special effects chief Chris Corbould would design. Each car will cost 3.6 million Euro and two additional cars will go to EON itself and a charity for auction.
For those who want an Aston Martin, but lack the pretty penny, Lego now offers the DIY solution. In 1290 pieces you can reconstruct the DB5 including all original add-ons at home. We got ourself one.
