UNITED KINGDOM – The Mall & The British Academy // No Time To Die (2021)
Being a shrink can be risky – when you are also Bond’s ex-lover. In “No Time To Die” Madeleine Swanns gets an unwanted visit in her office. In reality, it’s not that easy to visit the place.
Why Bond was here
Mysterious Safin (Rami Malek) threatens the world with a new kind of biological warfare. But before James Bond (Daniel Craig) is on his trails, he is on Bonds. Or more precise: on Bonds former love interest Madeleine Swann (Lea Seydoux). Swann works for the British government but also operates a private practise as a shrink. Safin waits at her office, posing as a new client, but soon starts to threaten her.

How you gonna get there
The office is inside the British Academy, right next to the Mall. In “No Time To Die” Swann walks along the Mall and up the stairs towards Carlton House Terrace with the Duke of York Monument visible in the back. She then enters the British Academy and smalltalks to colleagues at the broad Victorian stairway. Her office also is part of the British Academy, it is a small room at the upper floor of house No. 10.
Good to know
The British Academy at Carlton House Terrace offers his buildings for ceremonies, weddings, conferences and filming productions. Next to “No Time To Die” also “Cruella”, “Bridget Jones” and episodes of “The Crown” were filmed here. Check out the homepage of the British Academy for more info or a contact to plan your own visit.

During our visit we were only able to visit the stairway though. Due to intense construction work the upper floors of the building weren’t accessable. So the office room was off limits.

The Mall is quite a famous spot – for British royalty, for London enthusiasts, but for Bond lovers as well. A lot of locations are nearby. “Die Another Day” has the Reform Club, “Skyfall” has Trafalgar Square, “Spectre” brings the Hildebrandt Safe House to the table. Whitehall with a lot of recognizable Bond locations is also just around the corner.
