Driving Home for Business

UNITED KINGDOM – London, Whitehall Court // No Time To Die (2021)

Whitehall is the political heart of London – and a James Bond location galore. But “No Time To Die” has managed to find yet another corner of the area, that hasn’t been filmed.

Why Bond was here
After bringing down SPECTRE, driving off into the sunset in Italy, bringing down SPECTRE again and flying off to Jamaica, James Bond (Daniel Craig) has to face his nemesis once more. It has been five years, since he has been absent from active service. But the CIA recruits Bond to infiltrate a SPECTRE gathering. But the gig goes awry, leaving Bond the sole survivor, after a DNA-targeting bioweapon busts the party. The weapon, “Heracles”, was cooked back home in England. So Bond returns to the MI6, as a visitor. He parks his Aston Martin in Whitehall Court, walking over to the Ministry of Defense.

Arriving at Whitehall Court: Bond reporting for duty once again

How you gonna get there
Whitehall Court is a small street just of Whitehall. It is within walking distance from Trafalgar Square and “Charing Cross Station”. Thus you can reach it with multiple subway lines such as Circle and District (find out more at the London Transport Site). The Skyfall location Embankment Station is also close.
Bond parks his Aston Martin in front of the Royal Horseguards hotel and – visible in the back – is the yellow facade of the luxury hotel Corinthia. Vis-à-vis is the Defense Ministry to the south.

Good to know
Whitehall Court is a pretty famous Bond hub. The Old War Office Building was visible in many of the old Bond movies like “Octopussy” and “Licence to Kill”. In addition Whitehall 55 is the address, where Bond stood atop the roof at the end of “Skyfall” and drove off with Madeleine Swann at the end of “Spectre”. Moreover, the “Hildebrandt Safe House” is also nearby. You can read more about the James Bond Whitehall Locations here.

Whitehall, with the Parliament and Downing Street No. 10 around, is the political heart of London. You can breath the severe atmosphere. And the luxury as many top-notch hotels and restaurants gather here as well. “The Great Scotland Yard” offers a fancy Afternoon Tea, “One Twenty One Two” is a highend restaurant. But if you fancy more folksy places, you’ll find them as well. We had some great pints at the “Old Shades”! And for budget options we recommend having a snack at the “Waterstones” up at Trafalgar Square.
