Mitchell’s Flat

UNITED KINGDOM – London, The Water Gardens // Quantum of Solace (2008)

No wonder, MI6 agent Mitchell double-crossed the secret service. The rent for his London flat in WaterGardens is not for everybody. This is how to find the location!

Why Bond was here
Before James Bond (Daniel Craig) can even messure how big the sinister group Quantum is, they strike right away – trying to hurt M (Judi Dench) in Siena. MI6 agent Mitchell (Glenn Foster) turns out to be a double agent for the criminal organisation. So Bond hunts him down. After Mitchells death, the secret service is looking for clues in his apartment back home in London.

How you gonna get there
Mitchell’s apartment is part of the WaterGardens buildings at 1 Sussex Gardens, just off Edgware Road in Paddington. It is the one on the sixth floor.
Closest tube station is “Edgware Road”, Paddington Train Station is also nearby. It is just a short walk down Sussex Road – the 1960s modernist towers from WaterGardens are widely visible.

Good to know
WaterGardens consist of three tower blocks. They may look dull, but the flats are pretty expensive. Flats are available for 3,500 Pounds per month. Don’t know, if Mitchell could have afforded one. At least it explains, why he took Quantum as a second income.
The flat on the sixth floor isn’t the only location on ground. Bond drove towards the building from Burwood Place, passing the gated entry there.

We visited the WaterGardens during a nice evening walk down from Paddington towards Marylebone. Our goal: The Langham! The luxury hotel was Bonds stay in St. Petersburg in “GoldenEye”. Also nearby is the fine Hyde Park with the Marble Arch and Sotheby’s from “Octopussy” also within walking distance. Well, in London, you get your Bond location around every corner.
