James Bond in retirement on Jamaica – and back in action in Norway and Italy. Here are all movie locations used in “No Time To Die”.
In No Time To Die, James Bond (Daniel Craig) enjoys the merits of retirement – before getting drawn back into the chaos SPECTRE left behind. His pursuit brings him from Matera in southern Italy to Jamaica and Cuba, from London to Scotland, the Faroe Islands and Norway.
We listed all No Time To Die movie locations in bold – with linked geocodes for the exact spot.
Here are all No Time To Die movie locations in Italy, Jamaica, the UK and Norway:
ITALY
Bond and Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux) enjoy their sort-of-honeymoon in Matera in southern Italy. The city is mixed together with other villages and places from the nearby area though.
Madeleine dives at Cala Tunnara at Maratea, a private beach of luxury stay Santa Venere, before Bond senses, something is bothering her. Both then drive the Aston Martin DB5 along the Highway between Sapri and Acquafredda, before entering Matera. The lovebirds walk along Via Muro to watch the fires. The hotel “Palazzo Lucareschi” is a mock-up. The entry to the lobby had been filmed at the hotel “Palazzo Viceconte”, while the piazza is at Rione Pianelle. Also the room is not real: It had been constructed on a balcony in front of Piazetta Pascoli. The cemetery is fake as well. It had been constructed near the church Madonna della Vergini outside Matera. The bridge, Bond leaps off, is the Ponte Acquedotto in Gravina di Puglia – a town some 30 kilometers to the north. It had been digitally put into the valley next to Matera.
Bond fights Primo at the little square in front of Palazzo del Casale and then races along Via Fiorentini. The bike jump was filmed on Piazza Duomo next to the Cathedral. The car chase with the Aston Martin had been filmed at Piazza San Pietro Caveoso, on Via Madonna della Virtue towards Via Civitaa and on Vico S. Leonardo towards Via Bruno Buozzi. The sheep blockade is at Via d’Addozio and then the iconic donut spin at Piazza San Giovanni.
The Aston Martin then crosses the junction at Via XX Settembre 2 and Via T. Stigliani to head for the train station. But the station itself is not in Matera, but at the beach town Sapri 100 kilometers further west. Filming took place both inside the station and in front of it on Piazza Vittorio Veneto. The piazza has been mirrored in the movie.
Later in the movie, Italy was used again. The beach, Madeleine, her daughter and Nomi (Lashana Lynch) find shelter at, is south of the Piscina Naturale next to Maratea.
JAMAICA & CUBA
Jamaica brings 007 back to his spiritual home. Bonds house is a set at San San Beach. The sailing scenes – same as the later ship explosion – had been filmed at the bay in front of it. Bond drives along Allan Avenue into town and outmanoeuvres Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) and Logan Ash (Billy Magnussen) on the square at Port Antonio Market. They later walk along William Street towards the “Good ova Evil” club. The club itself is not real though. Bond then gets picked up by Nomi in front of “Piggy’s Jerk Center” at Harbour Street.
Additional filming took place at Boundbrook Wharf in Port Antonio and Kingston Harbour at the Freeport Terminal. The combined areas double for the yacht harbour in Santiago de Cuba. The crew never went to the real Cuba, but digitally added the famous Castillo del Morro to the Jamaican harbour. Also, the “El Nido” night club and the whole junction in front of it aren’t real: they were a massive set built in Pinewood. The stairs and bar of the night club are inspired by famous real counterparts: For example the stairs, where Paloma (Ana de Armas) fights, are taken from Havanna famous bar “La Guarida”. The balcony and street setting is inspired by bars like “Casa de la Trova” in Santiago and the wooden bar has similarities to one of Hemingway’s hometurfs in Havanna: “Sloppy Joe’s Bar”.
NORWAY
Madeleines home is at the shore of lake Langvann in Nittedal, the house was constructed there. The underwater scenes, after the young Madeleine broke into the ince, had been filmed at lake Lutvann though – due to it’s much clearer water.
The beautiful bridged road towards the house is Atlanterhavsveien aka Atlantic Ocean Road. It is here, where Ash starts his pursuit. All additional car chase scenes had been filmed in the UK.
UNITED KINGDOM
Bond gets rid of the first two attacking Land Rovers along the road at Loch Laggan in Scotland. Then the other cars and bikes push him into the river beds at Pattack River. Later, Bond gets picked up by Nomi in her Aston Martin at a dusty road at Creag Meagaidh. Down in England, at Swinley Park and Salisbury Plain more of the car chase and the action in the woods had been filmed.
Home in London, the secret laboratory is in a CGI made skyscraper based in Blackfriars. Bond gets his old Aston Martin V8 in a fictional garage in the tunnel at Centaur Street in the Lambeth part of London, then drives up to the MI6 at Whitehall Court. The hilarious scene, when Bond has to introduce himself to the security guard was filmed in Macmillan Hall at the Senate House of the University of London. Madeleines walk to the office, where she encounters Safin, was filmed at here at The Mall. The office itself is in the British Academy right next to it. Bond later visits Q’s home at Roupell Street and has a talk with M (Ralph Fiennes) at Hammersmith Bridge. The prison, Blofeld (Christoph Waltz) is held in, is Belmarsh east of London. Only an aerial slot was used – the interiors are obviously a set.
Extra: The scene with the firing warship had been filmed in front of Isle of Wight.
FAROER ISLANDS
The island is set to be in the watery nowhere between Russia and Japan – but is actually part of the Faroer Islands in the North Sea. The small fishing village Trøllanes got CGI-enhanced to be the remote lair of Safin (Rami Malek). It is on Kalsoy, one of the Faroer Islands most scenic islets.
